The Slate 6 sports a 6 inch IPS LCD display with 1280 x 720 HD resolution and with Slate 7 you will get a 1 inch increase in diagonal length (7 inch) without any increase in display resolution. Both of these tabs will be powered by a quad core processors and run on Android 4.2 jelly bean operating system. The internal storage will be 16 GB and expandable using MicroSD support. “Engineered to elevate the experience for users in India, the new compact, full-featured tablets are powered by a quad-core processor, enabling users to multitask at everything from email to web surfing to gaming to streaming. With voice-calling capability, the new devices deliver performance, quality and reliability helping users take care of productivity & entertainment requirements,” Acknowledged HP in the press release. HP had tried to enter Smartphone race earlier too, with acquisition of Palm for a whooping 1.2 billion US dollars, but failed in its attempt. With Slate 6 and Slate 7 HP is directly heading to India without trying its luck in US or Europe. This is a wise initiative considering HP brand credibility in India, Booming smartphone Market and India’s love for large display calling devices.
